Question Time to upgrade Speakers ( Classic )

Right folks, need to get rid of the standard (pish) speakers in my classic.
What do you guys recommend for front components and rear shelf.

You'll get plenty of recommendations on here. Listen to all recommendeations, then do just that: go out and actually LISTEN to the recommended speakers.

It's how hi-fi nuts buy their speakers. Speakers and whether you like them or not, are subjective. Just because they don't say " Slobotnik" or some other such on them, doesn't make 'em bad, and vice versa. Nor does big bucks, or lack of it If YOU like the sound, then buy them. If not, don't.

I did blind testing in Halfords, first, I chose the ones I liked the sound of, then I got my youngest to switch between them at random while I stood with my back to the console. Fronts foirst, then rears.
I ended up with Sony 3-way 16cm fronts and Sony 3-way 9x6 in the rear, and I don't care what anyone says, they suit me.

Cheers Alcazar,

Good advice..

Do only a certain make of 6x9 speakers fit in the back so i don't have to cut anything and what is the biggest size speaker i can put in the front without using spacers for a direct replacement????????

Cheers..
