Sub boxes
Ive got a decent amp now for my sub but the sub has seen better days. My question is do i keep my box which has 2 ports and get another speaker or do i buy a new sub and box? Is there any advantage to having ports in the sub box?
Thanks

All depends on the sub in the box mate, some subs are designed for ported enclosures others are designed for sealed enclosures.
Generally you will get a lower note with more air pressure with a ported box and a tighter punchier note from one in a sealed enclosure. So its all down to personal preference at the end of the day.
Decide what you like and make sure you get whats right for the box.
Hope that helps

Ive just bought a JBL 1000 watt sub and sealed the old box but i think the box is to big really as i cant get any decent bass. The amp is a 1000 watt Sony mono block one.
