Pioneer DEHP70BT Head Unit
Anyone got a DEHP70BT Pioneer head unit fitted? I quite like the idea of using the headunit as a Bluetooth hands free interface

Just installed the unit while on lunch, fitted a breeze. Not too sure if i like the unit fitted in the lower of the 2 slots, as the flip down face place seems to foul on the top of the Air con bit.
The only problem I have is that the unit seems to only like being powered with the Red / Yellow connectors at the Head unit end in parallel to the Yellow connector (Battery) of the car loom.
Anyone know of a way to get the unit configured so that it will start / stop with the ACC power on?

Bollox! 
The car decided at approx 2:30 this morning to set off the alarm. Cue entire street getting woken up whilst I try to get the car started with a flat battery.
So much for the OFF button on the head unit reducing the drain on the battery.
Short of me filling the boot with loads of batteries, anyone got any suggestions or an idiots guide to wiring the Head unit so that it can retain settings / run from ACC power?
Time for bed now.

I have one to install this weekend - although I have noted there may be compatibility problems with a Sony Ericsson!

Hi there - how did you stop the battery drain - it happened straightaway with mine
I have two sets of instructions and they are conflicting!
I have configured it for ACC operation yet the battery still drained.

I ended up taking mine to a Car Stereo fitter as I was having them to replace all the speakers for me anyway.
If I remember correctly from what the fitter was saying, he used the 12v yellow to yellow, and tapped the red into the acc power of the ciggy lighter.
This means that I'm now getting the stereo to come on when I select ACC with the key, and when the car is locked up, it retains enough power for settings to remain.

This makes sense - it states that in a car fitted with an ACC ignition you do not need to do this - except the other instructions say that you do!!
The other thing I was presuming is that with the ACC Red lead spliced into the ciggy lighter then I do not use the red +ve on the ISO connector.

I've always made a point of replacing the speakers in every scoob I've owned.
I'm not saying that they're bad. It's just once you replace the OEM head unit, you'll start to realise that they are not good.
Went for Phoenix Gold 6.5 Components in the front with Co-ax 5's in the rear doors. very happy with it.

I have finalised my install - it looks great as the colour is pretty much identical to the Scoob interior.
The phone works really well with my P910i.
The power issue I had was unrelated. During the install I had left the interior light on and having a Spec C it has a very small battery.
Using the ISO connector works fine.
I also have the Pioneer 12 CD changer in the boot. It works pretty well too
My only quibble is that line in needs yet another adapter. You can get an iPod adapter but I have a Zen.
I currently only have two speakers as the Spec C does not have rears - I will be changing them.
The unit sounds powerful and is a joy to use.

The pocket came fitted as standard (MY06 JDM Spec C) - if I had thought I could have got the part number for it when I had the bits out.
The silver loaded flappy thing looks good though.

Been using the phone a lot to day as I was driving around and this head unit is excellent. One slight glitch is that it crashed the phone at one point but I suspect that is user error!

You answer using the 'multi-function' control button - you give it a jab - or you use the remote if you have fitted it to the steering wheel...
...it comes with a dedicated phone remote with pictures of little phones on it.

OR...you can set the head unit to auto receive calls. That's what I have set. If i see an unwanted number, I will cancel the call.

Either using the phone OR by using the phonebook on the Headunit.
you can transfer numbers from the phone to the head unit. You can also have 10 favorite numbers stored on the 10 panel buttons.

I also use AUTO answer - not set my phone book up yet as the phone does not do a bulk load to this head unit (according to the spec sheet) will give a go in the morning.
It will do voice tag calling though which will be great.
I continue to be impressed by how effective it is, especially in such a noisy car.
