Default Which ones ???

Hi All

I am going to buy some new speakers for the RB tomoz and need some quick advice, I can either go for some Sony cant remember the name but these give out 240w £49.99 (v good speakers) which fit into the same slot on the rear shelf, or luckerly because my car is a late my99 it has the template which is removable for a set of 6x9`s which will slot straight in ...

What would you go for ????

dont want Mr boom bastic....

put the 6x9's in, choose some with a high sensitivity as they will work better with just head unit power (i.e if your not going to use a seperate amp.)
mind you i usually reccommend that you spend more money on the front speakers as thats where you sit in the car so have better sound up there where your sitting! oh and use an amp as well :-)

I did blind testing on quite a few speakers, including some very expensive and so-called top name units. I ended up with Sony 3 ways in the front and Sony 3 way 6x9's in the back, just 'cos I like the sound best.

Funnily enough, I thought that was how you were SUPPOSED to choose speakers

i bet the expensive ones would have sounded much better with a more powerfull amp of suitable quality, any system will only sound as good as the weakest part of it.
you can get reasonable sound out of ****e speakers with a good amp but you wont get reasonable sound out of good speakers with a ****e amp, most speakers distort because the amp which is powering them is distorting, a speaker only plays what signal it's given! good or bad.
