Tweeter Brackets
Hi,
Its audio upgrade time and I have a new HU, infinity 6500's for the front and the rear 6 x 9 kenwood subwoofer kit + a few rolls of dynomat waiting for me to fit.
Problem is that looking at all the threads it seems I am missing the tweeter brackets that should be behind the door tweeter grile (MY99). Is this bracket there as standard or is it something people make up or buy?
oh and while I am here would putting in a seperate amp for the front 6500's make a huge difference? (HU is rated as 4 x 50W)
Cheers
Dan

AFAIK, it's an optional extra. My MY99 RB5 doesn't have any brackets behind the door tweeter grill.
Amping the speakers does make a difference, not just in power but clarity too.
I mounted my tweeters to the trim behind the wing mirror.

I've got 6500 up front and I just put them in the holder you get in the box and used double sided foam tape to mount them on the door frame.
Been there for a few months now and are fine.
I've got JBL 6x9 in the back and was thinking about a 10" sub for the boot. I too would like to know what difference it would make to amp up the 6500 and the 6X9s with a 4 way and run the sub of a seperate amp.

Thanks guys,
installed the 6500's and the HU so far, definatly a good impovement over the orignal setup. At the moment I have screwed the tweeter mounting that comes with the kit to the inside door frame behind the grills.
I suppose the mirror triangle mounting would sound better but be more attractive to the scoundrals, will have to try it when I get more time.

Amping, my 60wrms alpine amp sounds lovely and crisp, but if you want LOUD you need more power for these speakers. I currently have 2x60 and 1x140wrms going into the sub. Im thinking of bridging both sides for my components and using my RF amp for the sub alone.
