Default RDS

Am i correct inthinking the RDS function on car stereos is to display the station name (radio 1, etc)?
I've seen a unit for sale from America which i'm told will pick up all Europe stations but it doesn't have RDS - is this the only difference?

cheers

I think you'll find it has more differences than that. Usually tuning steps are different so you won't get all the stations, tuning range maybe different too. No traffic announcement, auto tuning to different freq whilst listening to National station. Also I doubt very much if you would have any warranty, parts or backup in the UK with a US unit. Have you also taken duty, VAT, shipping into account too on top of the purchase price?

I'm told the tuning goes up in increments of 50 the same as UK models do, the units are in the UK with duties paid, i'm not bothered about TA as i never use it, i just prefer to have the station name displayed instead of the frequency

cheers
