Default compatible head units?

just bought my first scoob (classic my00) and its got a pioneer KEH-P5700R head unit, presumably this is original? and a 6 disc changer pioneer CDX-P24S. I would like to upgrade the head unit but keep the changer cos I'm tight, so does anyone know what will work with the changer?

MY00 classics had a Philips radio/cassette so I doubt it's original.

Get an MP3 playing head unit and it's unlikey that you'll need a changer.... or get a Pioneer (the only make that might work) and if it doesn't ebay the old changer to help pay for a new one.

Gary's right, the OE unit was Philips, nowhere near Pioneer standard.

My lad now has an MP3 player, Alpine, in his Ibiza, it plays DVD discs with over 1300 cd's on it!

Awesome.

Awesome.
I'm about to get an Alpine head unit but looking at the user manual it just goes on about MP3 CDs. When it goes onto DVDs, it just talks about movies etc.

Can I ask you a few questions (or your lad)?

Is there a set format to record the MP3s onto the DVD disc? What software does he use?

Do you know what dvd discs he is using? DVD-R?

I've actually recorded a disc using Nero but the DVD won't play in my set top DVD player, even though it will play mp3s on CD?

Sorry for the number of questions

Thanks if you can help

You have got to burn a DVD-MP3 in that mode(DVD-MP3) for it to work, what version of Nero do you have? Oh and it has to be a DVD-R ,I think.

Its version 6.6.0.12 which I think is the latest version.

Using Nero express I'm choosing Music/MP3 Disc. I then burn to DVD-R, which Nero does OK, it plays in the PC automatically with WMP, but the set top box just ignores it. The DVD player is a Marantz 6500.

Sorry to go a bit off topic. At the end of day, I'm not too bothered about playing the DVDs on the player, just want to make sure they will play in the Alpine when it comes.

Regards
