Oiling Electric Aerial

My electric aerial has started sticking sometimes when I switch it on. I've checked all the mechanics/ straightness and it seems to need oiling.
Whats the best to use Oil / WD40 / Silicon ?

The problem round Aberdeen at this time of year is all the salt on the roads. I wipe my aerial clean with a cloth soaked in WD40. This has kept my aerial working so far.
Graphite is also a good lubricant, but it might not last long at this time of year.

Hello,
DONT USE OIL/SILLICON!!!
It will form an insulating layer on the contacts.
Use either Pencil lead as discussed becuase it conducts OR a more high tech /clean option is to go to a branch of Tandy/Maplin and buy some Contact Cleaner with Lubricant sometimes known as switch cleaner. This will make evrything clean, lubed and conencted!
I also use this on door locks.
