digital radios
The cheapest decent one would be the Blaupunkt woodstock 52 at £299.99 (rrp) thats a fully inegrated unit that comes with its own glass mount aerial. The selection of stations is excellent and the reception is crystal clear but the quality of the facia leaves alot to be desired for a 300 pound unit however as its a blaupunkt you could use it to knock nails into walls with everyday for the next 10 years and not affect it.
The 52 will also do mp3 playback eiether off disc or the SD memory card slot, the next model up (54) allows you to record to the memory card off the unit 54 is alot better looking and includes a varible colour display allowing you to have any colour display you want. 54 (£399).
I mostly have experience with the Blaupunkt range but i believe there are a few other decent models out there purly on the basis of cost and space id go for one that has fully integrated DAB.

I went down the JVC route - purely because the car already had a JVC headunit and 12 disc changer, and I didn't want the hassle of removing it all.
I have got the EXAD SHX701 headunit, and coupled it with the DB1000 DAB box. I have the DAB box stashed in the glove box. I also bought a Blaupunkt external glass mount aerial, and find the reception excellent up & down the country.
The head unit was £300, and the DAB box £45 off ebay (normally £150).
