Question

I have recently purchased a Sony Ten disc Auto Changer to go with my existing Sony Head Unit. I would like some advice on where to fit it and the best route to run the audio/control cables.

My car is a UK spec MY2000.

Thanks & a Happy New Year,

Ian.

Mine is fitted on the left hand side of the boot - immediately behind the wheelarch.

Seems to be fine although it does intrude into the boot space a bit.

I'm not sure about fitting as it was professionally installed, but it only took about an hour.

Make sure that the mounting is solid, too, as this prevents skips.

For audio signals, run 'em away from any large wiring looms and power cables for your amps (if you have any). Mine go straight down the middle of the car and I don't have any troubles.

Cool

Hi Ian,
I've installed mine under the passenger's seat (saves on boot space, what with mine being a 5dr)
I ran the cable, like Chiark, down the centre of the car....

Have a look here for more info:-

Thumbs up

I have recently fitted a Kenwood 10 cd changer into my MY00. I followed a previous post and cut a 16.5" MDF circle which rests in the rim of my car's spare tyre. The changer is then screwed onto the underside of the MDF with a cable running from the head unit, through the centre console, along past the gearstick and handbrake and under the back seat into the boot.

This allows the boot to be used to the full and back seats to be dropped to allow huge luggage items to be slung in without fear of knocking/breaking the changer. Works a treat.

Mail me off list if you want more info.

Took about 2-3 hours in total.

Steve
