Default Whats the best place to mount my subs

I have finally installed my amp (2x600w) and subs (1x10" 1x13" both in individual bass boxes) into my new scooby but it sounds crap. Sounded great in my integra (only a parcell shelf between me and the subs) but i think the solid boot construction in the scoob is killing the bass. I still get low frequency bass but the punchy bass from the 10" seems very subdued. Is it adviseable to cut holes in the back of the rear seats and mount the subs to them. Where do most of You mount your subs.

You may have the subs canceliing each other out at certain freq`s.
Remove the 13" and see if it improves.

Just a thought.

Already tried that but no luck. In my last 4 door saloon I cut out round holes in the metal seat backs and mounted the speakers to the back of the seats , sounded good but not as good as when the subs are in boxes, bass used to be so powerfull it used to vibrate my internals and made it impossible to see through the rear view mirror as it was vibrating so much. Would it be beneficial to cut holes in the seat backs to let the bass through but keep the subs in the boxes ?.

The ones in the side panels or the ones in the rear shelf.
