I popped into Halfords yesterday and was amazed by the Sony 'Black Face'(?) systems that show graphics on the whole panel when closed and all flat black when off. You push a little button and a whole double dashboard slowly opens out with loads of lights & things! - Amazing

Kenwood have a similar one 7080 or somat like that.

Are they any good? Are there places to get them cheaper than £299 ?

Cheers

Mick

If you are spending that sort of cash why don't you go for the alpine 7861R. Gets great reviews from car stereo magazine.

and the JVC KDLX30 is pretty smart too. Full black screen, with a small control panel that slides out from the bottom of the unit and when you want to put the CD in the control panel drops back in, the whole display drops down 1 cm and you can put the cd in.

The only problem is JVC dont have the best reputation for car stereos but with those features I dont care and Im going to buy one.

From uk.rec.audio.car - letsbuyit.com has had some very derogatory postings - about 3 month deliveries etc. See the other post in ICE section today about a chap that got a 7080 empire I think - he sounds very happy - good on him for hunting down such a bargain.

I ordered a Burger King two Whoppers for a pound voucher (or something similar) from LetsBuyIt.com. They took the money weeks ago but have not sent the voucher yet and offer poor fob off excuses.

I would not give them £184 for anything.

And another thing, their web site seem v. slow to me.
