With regards to the Dynamat, you need to stick it around the speaker mounting area and on the outer door skin behind the speaker.
A couple of inches around the speaker should be fine.
Best to use as much as you can on the outer skin.

Not sure, its a seperate plug( 2 leads )mono i think that gives you a volume control on the head unit.l

Does that mean that if i want to use it that i will have to run a seperate power supply as well and that the 2 leads out of the rear are just for sound? sorry but i dont know much about ice and what connects to where.
Basically, you need an amp, RCA leads, power cables, and a sub.
Cheap amp can be had here: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/prod...products_id=37
Don't know if it's any good, but it will probably do alright if you don't want massive bass. You could also go for something slightly more expensive of course. This one might be better as it has got four channels (i.e. can drive four speakers): http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/prod...roducts_id=989.
To connect power to the amp, you will need a wiring kit. For your purposes, I would think this one is alright: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/prod...roducts_id=205
It comes with all the cables you need. It might not be good enough if you want to upgrade in the future, though. If you are planning on upgrading later, consider getting a more expensive amp wiring kit.
For an extremely cheap sub (don't know what it sounds like), maybe this one would be alright: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/prod...oducts_id=3383

Thanks for that info, I have seen in halfords 2 jbl subs with built in amps one looks like a brief case and the other looks like some sort of bomb are these any good ? both cost around £100.
Well, I actually have no idea if they are any good
However, for 100 pounds including amplifiers, box etc, I would have thought (but I may be wrong), that the components used aren't of too high quality. Then again, it might not matter if all you want is some sound, and don't want bragging rights to the In Car HiFi Anorak Club
I'm a great believer in buying cheap crap that sounds alright for the money (because I've always been broke since I got this damn subaru
), so my bass box for example cost 21 quid off eBay including a 10" sub. It doesn't sound amazing, but it does the job for me at the moment.
My amp for the bass is a no-name 2x50W RMS jobby, and the front components will be run by a 2x100W amplifier (but it looks like it's going to supply about 2x20W RMS
). I bought the amp for 4.50 off eBay.
The only 'decent' parts in my system at the moment are the power cables and front components.
The whole car is in pieces at the moment, due to the bloody endless winter rain, but once it is in, I hope it will sound OK to me (I don't really know anything about SQ anyway), and it will have cost me (hopefully) not a lot of money.. Then again, it might all sound cack and I might have to upgrade immediately
My parts are as follows:
Head Unit (some panasonic MP3 thingy): 130 (but came from our other car)
Rear Amp: Free (Well, wife had it lying around already)
Sub + box: 21
Front Amp: 4.50
Front Components: 80
Active Filter: 5.19 off eBay
Cabling: about 90 (but that included soldering 3 RCA cables myself)
Sound proofing: as much as is needed (around 100?)
I think the Law Of Diminishing Returns holds true for Car Audio, i.e. you get what you pay for, to an extent. I just hope my stuff will sound OK enough for me, so I don't have to splash out xxx pounds on more things
Plus, 75% of the fun for me with audio is the installation bit... it gives me some time to myself where I can mess around with cables and feel all manly

Henric ,nice reply
I`m not trying to win any max power ice prizes either
just want a fairly decent sound without going over the top
trouble is i dont know anything about god dam amps and stuff so its all new to me
I think I`ve got it pritty much sorted now ,just need to sort this amp ,sub thingy it just looked to me that these combo units are a lot less hastle to fit and unlike you it gives me no pleasure ripping the car to bits to get it all fitted.
E bay now thats an idea so long as i know what I am buying lol.
My list so far:-
sony cdx 7700 bought secondhand off scoobynet and a nice bit of kit if i say so myself.
front infinity 605 components halfords
rear standard at the mo but will change at some point
amp and sub TBA
and lots of dynamat
