Blaupunkt DXR70 SAT/NAV and speed sensor
Hi,
I'm hoping to replace the standard radio in my MY02 Impreza WRX with a Blaupunkt DXR70 SAT/NAV system.
I've been advised by Blaupunkt to connect the radio Tacho (speed sensor) to Pin 1 (green/black) wire on the middle yellow plug of the car ECU.
Whilst ordering the 2 DIN to 1 DIN convertor from Subaru dealer, they suggested they had experienced some problem using the ECU as a source for the speed sensor output although no alternate suggestion was made. (Then quoted £150 to install radio themseleves.)
Has anybody had experience of fitting this radio or heard of a problem using the ECU speed sensor.
Thanks in advance.

David,
Now had a look at my ECU and it doesn't seem to correspond to instructions from Blaupunkt.
Could you please tell me which plug, wire you used as the "vehicle speed" output from the ECU.
Thanks,
Ross

You can get a speed pulse from the green/ silver bands wire. it is on the 18pin plug that goes in to the back of the dash clocks.
