Default Speaker Phasing

Is there an easy way to tell if the +/- inputs on speakers are the wrong way round?

Lack of bass, wierd phasing problems...

It doesn't matter if they're the wrong way around, as long as everything is either the wrong way around, or you've played a bit to check that it is the best config for your needs.

If you mean the labelling on the speaker, then BRIEFLY touch a 9v battery to the terminals with + to the + of the speaker and - to the... I'll let you figure that out. You should see the cone move towards you if the + is on the +...

Cheers,
Nick.

Id only use 1.5v battery personally.. or as small as possible..

Having said that sometimes I have had to stick one speaker out of phase.. dunno if its down to the terminals fitted the wrong way during speak manufacture?

Sometimes speakers do sound better out of phase due to path length differences, etc. It's vasty affected by your position in the car, too.
