Question STANDARD EQUIPMENT, IS IT MINCE ???

Hi, just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced the same problem as me, the speakers in my car( 04 sti uk) seem to be very poor indeed, i know that this is not the main reason why we buy these cars but surely the should be slightly better, it seems that as soon as i turn the volume up in order to hear any music it starts to distorte quite badly , even with the bass turned down etc, it distorts when the volume control gets to about 25. Is it just the case that the standard speakers are mince and should be replaced with a decent set of custom fit ones ??. If so have any of you done just that or can you point me in the right direction, where i`ll get a good set of speakers that will fit front and rear with as little instalation trouble as possible. thanks!!

I noticed a difference from standard C/R to disc player. But the disc player is a higher wattage so play back is clearer, you don't need all the volume.

Just upgraded to a Sony headunit with CD/MP3 and it has made a big difference. Don't think I'll bother changing the speakers now.
