just bought a dab 52,removed connector's from rad/cass they went straight into the dab everything work's o.k but when i turn off ingnition radio stay's on will i need to fit a iso connector for radio to work with ingnition plus there was a black lead connected to rad/cass with avs ?,are subaru speaker's as a gen poor because i was hoping for a better sound

It sounds like the memory backup lead is crossed with the power lead. If the ISO colours are used the permanent 12v is yellow, the ignition (accessory) power is red.
Unfortunately an upgrade to the head unit will only expose the poor quality of the speakers, there are loads of threads on here about upgrades but I like the Infinity 6000cs I fitted to mine.

What year's your car?
Mine was a straight fit into a MY00, but due to the wonders of Subaru wiring, it stays on for around 10 seconds once the ignition's turned off, unless I have something working off the cigarette lighter.
