Question Quick question on Apline illumination wiring

Hi,

I'm in the middle of fitting an Alpine 9815 and have got to a bit where things don't work out

The manual says that if you're fitting a 9812, you connect the orange wire out of the HU to an illumination feed.

There's an orange illumination wire in the ISO connector and an orange wire in the loom out of the back of the HU which mates with a pin on the HU so it looks like there's something possible. Did I remember seeing that if you connected them together with a bullet etc then the HU would dim when the lights came on AKA bright switch?

Or is it a standard loom Alpine supply and it won't do a thing on my HU?

Any help appreciated before I start fastening things back together.

Ta

Thumbs up

Sorted - in & working

Connecting the illumination lead does drop the brightness slightly on the main display but only just

The surrounding buttons don't seem to change and are very bright - so bright you can't see the symbols on them

Also managed to re-route the Ipaq / Road angel cables so they're not trailing everywhere - not perfect but a damn sight better than before
