Hi all, just wondering if anyone out there can help me...

My father has a 1994 Toyota 4Runner Jeep which has a factory Toyota Radio Cassette and a Toyota CD Player which is piggybacked to the Radio Cassette. The whole thing looks like it is double DIN but they are actually seperate units.

The tuner has been giving trouble recently and the cd player has never worked since he got the jeep so we have decided to fit a Sony CD/MP3 player which has an ISO connector. After dismantling the dash last night and removing the factory units I have discovered that the radio is connected to what looks like an amp (silver metal box, bit like the one behind the glove box in my Lexus IS300). There seems to be at least six, possibly eight speakers in the jeep so I assume the amp is to power them.

My question is, can I get a harness to connect the Sony to the factory loom? And if so does it connect to the amp or bypass it by connecting to the two connectors coming from the bottom of it thus leaving the amp redundant?

Any help/advice appreciated.

Gavin
