Question

Hi guys.

My mate has an Alfa 147 with the sat nav system , however he wants to add a cd changer. He has been told by Alfa thet he needs to part with £400 for the privelage!!

Im pretty handy with run-of-the-mill headunits but does anyone have any experience of accessing the back of the sat nav/ICE system? Im expecting to find some kind of lead or plug where a compatable cd changer will connect to.....

Any help would be appreciated because the last thing I want to do is mess up his nice system! He seems to think that Alfa use Blaupunkt...so any pointers on a compatable cd changer would be helpfull too.

Thanks in advance
Ian

Best advice is to stfw, then also try www.talkaudio.co.uk/vbb as someone there is bound to have an alfa.

I think it's Blaupunkt based. We can do a good deal on a refurb Sony T69 6 disc + Connects2 adaptor for Alfa/Blaupunkt. Would need confirmation from Alfa that the changer used with the satnav is the same changer used when the car has the "Blaupunkt 147 High" head unit.

Not much luck with talkaudio....only 3 views!

Thanks Monkeh, will give them a go.

12LEE - could you mail me your recommendations? I would appreciate confirmation on whether the unit is compatable. The sat nav system was installed as an optional extra by Alfa (his car was used as a demo model). Doesnt have the Bose system though. I'm sure there are no manufacturer details displayed on the screen or panel as it is all integrated into the dash

Thanks for your help guys

Red face

I have just had a reply from Paul (alfa owner):-

"As far as I know this isn't it. My 147 is fitted with the Alfa Connect service so the CD/Radio information is all displayed on the same TV screen as the SatNav.

However I know that Alfa Stockport only fit a Blaupunkt Unit so it is possible that the rear of the unit has the same fittings as the until you have mailed me"

Any ideas Lee?
