I want to install a double din sat nav that is a little to big for a MY01 WRX the metal case fits fine but the screen/facia is 10mm to big in both directions, so if it catches the dash early it will cause the unit to pretrude, but can I get it to fit? Can I modify my dash or even better have a custom panel made by someone?

All suggestions welcome

What model unit is it? There isn't any chance that the surrounding trim is removeable, is there? I had a similar problem in that I wanted to fit a Blaupunkt single unit but it was too wide as it was designed to be installed from the front, rather than built in from the rear. I bought a new headunit in the end.

You can trim the facia panel I suppose, but you'd need a second one to replace it if you sold the car or the unit.
