Converting dBu to dBa......
#3
dBu (also, confusingly, called dBm) is power, calculated in dB, referenced to 1 mW at 600 ohms (equal to 0.775V).
dBa is weighted absolute noise power, calculated in dB referenced to 3.16 picowatts (-85 dBm), which is 0 dBa.
To get dBa from dBu, add 85dB. To go the other way, subract 85dB.
Note that this is not strictly 100% accurate, as dBa is a frequency weighted measurement, and dBu (dBm) is not, but it is correct at 1kHz.
