I've installed a pair of JL-Audio's VR600-CS (2 way component system) into a friends MY99. No adaptors needed. You just have to fiddle around a bit with the tweeters (either glue them in behind the original tweeter emplacement next to the door handle or cut a hole for them). The sound is excellent, better than with the XR600-CS, which I installed in my Scoob. (And I had to make up some adaptors for them). And they were a lot more expensive... :-(

If you want to save some work (and are willing to accept some loss in stereo imaging), you could also install the VR-600-CX coaxial system.

Have a look at their home page: www. jlaudio.com

Price for either of the two systems is well below £200. Use the remaining cash to get some sound-deadening mats (dynamat or similar) for your doors.

Hope this helps.

Dan

Cool

JBL GT6.0c Mk2 works great! No mods at all are needed. They're cheap, and sound great!

Wink

I've just fitted a pair of Rockford Fosgate FanaticX FNX1614 6.5" 2 way components and tweeters. they are the dogs (with a Vibe 10" sub, all driven by a Rockford Fosgate Punch 4000a4 amp ), £250 the pair but well worth it. No mods no cutting needed, also when i opened the door panels there was sound deadening already in place in my MY99.
These speakers are so good i've disconnected the rears, don't need um, but the same speakers will fit straight in the rear holes aswell.

I am the happy bunny

Steve
