Has anyone tried this. While I wait for the right set of components to appear on e-bay(my dragsters are **** and the crossovers are broken) I was thinking that I could make a small box the depth of the speakers out of marine ply and then attach it too the floor in the pasenger foot well. the trouble is where do they go on the drivers side ?

under the pedals - just don't boot your motor after fitting!

Lightbulb

Got them under the seats facing the back of my legs at the moment but not properly fixed yet as I can't fit a box there. Will just have to mount them on a single sheet of wood at a slight angle. will be fun for all the ladies sitting down if I run some bass through them

i was thinking of a 6x9 door build but it means cutting the door card. take the bottom corner off the door card and build out a pod..

I tried using my new rotary cutter to cut holes in wood to mount them at the bottom of the seats today but as soon as I touched the wood it just smashed giant holes in it and sent splinters flying every where. Good fun but having 6*9's masking taped under the seats is less fun.

[flame suit on in readiness] aren`t 6x9`s a huge compromise? surely hefty components are the way forward in the front of the cabin?[/flame suit off]

True but the components I have now are from my last car and are made by a company called dragster who basically make third rate quality kit. The 6*9's I have had for seven years but have not really been used in that time but they still sound better than the dragster kit even when they face the back of my legs. Untill I find a good quality set of componentsat a good price the 6*9's stay.
they also have the option of adding bass to the front whichmight be fun if I can find a way to add bass to them with out pumping treble top the sub.
