Looking for a sub for my Alpine CDA7894 head unit. Are all active subs rubbish? I want a neat and simple install DIY.

Not all active subs are rubbish, but they all have their limitations.. My suggestion would be an Alpine MRP M350 amp £150 RRP plus an Alpine SWE 1241 sub £79.90 RRP and a Sealed 1cuft box. Screw the amp on the box, and it'll be better than an active sub, and almost as neat. You should be able to get everything for £250.
