Do the Kenwood Manual Mask units have a known/notorious weak spot for connection of the front panel to the unit?
My 5080 headunit has a dodgy connection when the front is rotated 90 degrees to allow ejection or loading of a CD. Since you can only eject the CD when the unit is on and at 90 degrees this is a pain.
I've fiddled a bit with the connector guides etc, wondering about the ribbon cable used, wiring is fine, but no obvious damage.
Seems a shame to junk an otherwise working headunit for this reason only....
Thanks. Any hints welcome as to where to look, difficult to get the multimeter in to test...

I have a krc 578 it has a ribbon cable connecting rotating mask bit to circuit board on main unit.
I was told that the ribbon cable was a weak point and sure enough it was split.
Easy to replace though.
