List Your Speakers Here
#1
As always there seems to be much debate and confusion around what speakers fit into the front door panels on the MY01+ and MY03.
Therefore let's try to get a thread started listing what you have fitted, the MY of your car, position of X-overs and the "mods" i.e. collar etc.. you needed to make.
I still can't decide between Focal 165a, Genesis P16 and Infinity 605CS on my MY02 WRX!!!!!!

Not to a new shape, but for other peoples benefit I fitted a set of Access 165A's to a MY00 UK wagon.
12mm MDF spacer required, spaced out further at the bottom to clear the window when it's down. Tweaters mounted at the perfect angle behind the tweater grill (next to door handle). Crossovers are currently mounted on the door next to the main speakers(due to laziness) although I'd probably have mounted them behind the dash if I'd taken more time about it.

Kenwood 6.5" dual mags, fitted with 12mm spacers. I forget the part number. Cross overs inside the door behind the woofers sealed with silicon, & spaced off the door skin to try and keep them dry.
Infinity 605CS in the back parcel shelf using custom 12mm MDF panels. Cross overs mounted next to the top of the turret behind the seat back. The Kenwoods, IMHO are significantly better speakers, but cost more money. The Infinity's are still good in the rear deck, giving decent bass etc, especially for the price I got them. Kenwoods and Infinities amped up.
Also pioneer 5.25" magnesium cone devices in the back doors for extra fill, mounted behind the hole and giving the head unit something to drive (had these before I did the inifinity's).

Boston Z6's front ... Focal poly kev in the parcel shelf (minus the tweets) ... crossovers and amps/eq mounted behind rear seats and in boot. Front woofers mounted using modified Autoleads speaker mounts. Tweeters mounted just above and woofers to give best stereo imaging without them sounding 2 bright (all mounted in a P1).

Phoenix Gold 6" tantrums mounted in front of 03 WRX. 18mm MDF spacer for 6" driver, crossovers mounted behind bulge in door card, and tweeters hot glued direct to metal door, in the same position as the original. All fitted very well, no great hassles.
