I'm wanting to take my exisiting ICE with me when I get my scoob, I went to my local car audio place and they quoted me £85 for fitting my JVC headunit/changer and my JBL 6x9's, this price is supposed to include some wooden/mdf rings that are supposedly needed to mount the 6x9's

Does this sound reasonable?

Apparently the 6x9s are a pain in the **** to fit in the scoob so i would say this is reasonable

6x9s might be a pain, they might just drop in - it largely depends upon the model or, more accurately, the exact size

I'd personally opt to mount them from underneath the shelf otherwise your install will be a bit "look at me, I've got a replacement stereo" - and it's not like Imprezas need any more attention from scum.

You can usually expect to pay around £30 per item at an ICE shop - except Amps (£40-£50) and component speakers (£40-£50)

I know this doesn't apply to you but a word of warning to others.....Some times its worth buying direct from them and negotiating in FREE installation - then that makes the buying cheap from a magazine seem not s cheap especially when you add postage etc
