Upgraded stereo for MY03 STi
#1
I want to replace the stereo with something that doesn't sound like a plastic cup on the end of a taught bit of twine.
Not sure what needs replacing, although I suspect speakers and head unit must go. Who's done what to beef up their tunes then ??

let me know what happens .. from what i've read here it's a toss up between head-unit or speakers ... assuming you've not got lots to spend.
i'd prefer to just do speakers as i like the idea of nobody wanting to nick my 2DIN and not worrying about breakins - regardless of how much you have to spend.

Head unit, IMHO. I'm still running around with just a replacement head unit and it's a large improvement.
For speakers, even just spending 50 quid on a new set of fronts will get good results.

Defo Head unit, made the biggest improvement for me, if I was doing it again I probably wouldnt replace the rear speakers at all just spend more money on the front componnents or an amp.
