Boys,

Need advice (as ever)

Got about £320 ish to play with really want a MP3 player and a sub and amp.

Planning on getting this head unit (top one) £149.99

http://www.caraudiodirect.com/shop/a...layers_17.html

Then want to get a basic sub and amp probably Kenwood or something, I was told by a local ICE shop I need a 12" sub as a 10" would sound tinny in a saloon.

SO I reckon

Headunit : £150
Sub and Amp: £140 ish
Cables: £30

Would this sound ok?

Cheers

Dan

plus has anyone used this Car Audio Direct? There prices are very good?

10" sounding tinny? Not IMHO, but they've probably got more experience.

Check prices on mcs-direct.co.uk, and edworthys.co.uk as well as caraudiodirect.co.uk - they all seem pretty competetive. I've used mcs-direct and caraudiodirect, and they both provided a good reliable service for me

Dan, if your not gonna upgrade any further then that head unit looks good value, but only has one pre out so amps are limited.

What you doing about upgrading the speakers (esp fronts) as this will make the most difference if you have decent components in the front. Also if u get a four channel amp u can run the fronts off them as well as the sub, but would then need 2 pre outs ideally, unless u get low level inputs !!

I ran 2 10's in the back of mine, previously had 2 12's but prefer the sound of the 10's as they are punchier.

Have a look in the back of cr4p power and fast c4ap as there are loads of deals in there for subs and amps for around the sort out money u want to spend.
