Anyone else playing with getting the sub in the front of the car???

I want to get 2 x JL8W6's as close to the front seats as possible. They are in the rear passenger footwell at the moment. Thinking about front footwells!!

Planning an 8" Peerless/Vifa 3 way comp set in the ol'hatch actually...little creative bashing and mig'ing and she'll be golden.

Also consider the VW Beetle...I have a line on one but no time.

Cool

I've got a pair of Focal 5WS 5" long-throw subs going spare..... You could bung them straight into the front doors, as they need tiny enclosures
Interested?

Might be interested in those long throw thingies...

Infinity used to do a very flat 8" midbass driver that Car Stereo and Security mag installed in the floors of a car quite successfully...

Flat midbass drivers? Phase-Linear Alliante's are the way to go! 2.5" deep, 8" diameter, 0.25cu ft enclosure and bass like your mom always warned you about!

(Did I mention I had a spare pair of them too? )

Eyup!

The new model of the Alliante 8" is shown here. The model I've got is basically the same, but the cage is all cast ally, not ally 'n black (pity - looks funky ) They're barely run in (I'm using a pair of PPI flat-piston 10's in my Legacy) and I'd be looking at £200 for the pair of 'em. They're still in their original (wooden) boxes too - they've had that little use.

As for the Focal 5" subs, there's info on the Focal website, but I can't find the link at the moment I'd be after £150 for the pair of them, if there's any takers.

Oh God, you're making my wallet nervous

I'm cash rich at the moment - banked the proceeds from selling my car yesterday - but will be poor on saturday...

Hmm, I am thinking about this...

Hehe - know that problem!
I'm toying with either building a new parcel shelf in the new car (Bora) and bunging them into there (did the same thing in my Peugeot 406 and they ruled) or selling 'em.
You want 'em, convince me not to put 'em into the Bora

I've heard, and like, the phase linear alinates. Plus it would please basshead who runs carstereo.net

Will have a look at space in the car when I pick it up. I believe Mr Wallis is trying to get advice for me.. Erm, cheers David - I think!

Unhappy

Sorry Chiark - bad news The Alliante's have gone

Got a deal I couldn't say no to - exchange my two Alliante 8's, and a Mac Audio 6-channel amp (pink) for two PPI Class D Power amps (2*100W and a 2*50W) and a PPI 10" flat-piston sub!!!

But, I've now got a glut of 10" flat-piston subs (3 of 'em!) if you're interested.....?
