Yeah, they're nice speakers, but I'd also try and have a listen to a set of Focals.

I'm at the same stage as you, i'm gonna fit Alpine 176A, they are from their R series range and are of good good quality. Fit the tweeters behind your wing mirrors not in the door next to handle.

Infinity are excellent on a budget... they are not deep sounding and compared to far better speakers like say Dyn Audio or Focal they sound a bit tinny. but hey they are a huge improvement on the standard door speakers.. and the Focals do cost a fair bit more

BTW - I'm not comparing the budget Focalend range which are not hugely different....if you dont want to be upset listening to other peoples systems that have spet some money go or a half way house and fit decent front speakers - you can always potentially use them in a future car...

To get the best of most uprated speakers its best to run off a smallish amp rather than the head unit....

i have 6.5" Nakamichi components, not cheap but sound quality is what i am after not volume. i am also a musician(play in a jazz band) so i know good music quality. i binned the factory crossovers and use rockford fosgate x overs instead this improves the sound quality no end, but the x-overs were £120 on their own.
these are run off an amp along with my 6x9's.

I have the infinity's fitted, they fit nice and easy,no adaptors required and also sound pretty good too, nice balance and control. Of cause this all rests in what music you listen too!!!!!!!!

I passed grade 8 Piano and Clarinet before the age of 16 does that qualify me to be an expert

Most people are not interested in Volume but quality.. I think the majority of people with Scobs are past the Nova brigade.....
