Exclamation

I have A MY03 STi8 on order, to replace my MY00, and i will be replacing the ICE in the new car, does anyone know if the head units are normal single DIN or the Double DIN type.

If it is Double DIN should i,or can i convert it to Single DIN.

If not what is the headunit of choice for Double DIN???

Advice Please

From what I remember sitting in both at the Motorshow both are double DIN, also I've got some quotes on MY03 WRX and they state double DIN too.

Andy.

Thumbs up

Double din, like the '01/'02. And you can buy single din converter from Subaru, just a pocket that fills up a single din space.

you have a couple of options.

you can buy a double to single din convertor from a subaru dealer or from here for a lot less cash.

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/shop/acatalog/CAD_Subaru_192.html

you could buy a new double din unit (get it from the US as there is more choice) check about fm modulation first.

go for a single din head unit and a single din cd changer from blaupunkt £160 + headunit or nakamchi (loads amoney.

It is a double din =

Depends on budget, but for around £325 I have installed in my STiV7 a single MD player and a 'slave' CD player with spectrum display - both kenwood - and easy to install - only thing needed was a adaptor lead - about a tenner - Got units from www.justkenwood.co.uk

If you do a search on blupunkt install, you'll find some pictures I posted of the blaupunkt MP3 player and in dash changer in my MY02. The dash of the MY03 looks the same but the silver bit on the MY01/02 becomes a darker grey colour on the MY03.
