Should do fine, it's only CD-RW discs that are giving trouble.

Can someone explain what CDR is

I dont understand what it means that it can play MP3

I download from the net - in MP3 format - and burn onto CD's - any and every CD player I have ever known - including my 20 yr old Technics will play them... so whats the advantage of the MP3 player?

A novice.....

The way you do it, the music is converted to a different format and u can only fit 74/80 minutes of music on one cd. The new method is different. U burn the mp3s as data rather than music. This means a 3 minute song will only take about 4 MB (a cd holds 650MB/700MB). That means rather than 1/26 (3/80)of the cd being taken up by a track, 1/175 (4/800) of the cd is taken up by a track. That means u can fit a lot mroe tracks on one cd.

And, if you burn 2 or more albums as mp3's you can generally have them in there own directory which you can skip to, rather than having to skip 20 songs etc manually. ( If you get what I mean )

As my Mp3 player (and most others) reads cd-rw's I burn loads of mp3 songs to it, listen to them for a few weeks or month and then wipe it and burn all new songs etc, that way i don't need loads of cd's in the car and don't waste any either
