Question

Rather than prising apart the door panels on my 95' WRX, I thought I'd better ask someone who knows...

I want to get to the front door speakers but wasn't sure how to get to them... any assistance will be welcome?!?

Thanks in advance...

Really easy, just take out the screw that holds the door pull-to handle, take off the surround for the door/lock opener, and just go round the edges of the trim and pull. Thats it.

1. Take out the screw in bottom of the door handle and remove the
plastic "bucket" thingy. There should be a little plastic screw
cover over it.
2. Take out the little piece of plastic that sits behind the door
opening mechanism.
3. Starting at the bottom back (i.e. towards the boot) corner, pull
the trim away, working along the bottom.
4. As you get to the front side a black push in retainer thing will
pop out. Catch it
5. Once all the trim is loose you will need to lift the whole panel
up as there are mountings that sit just next to the window. Be
careful here, as there are a load of wires that go to the window
controls. The lome can be released by using a small flat screw
driver, its one of those annoying clip in connectors.

6. Voila.

7. If you are fitting UK spec speakers you will need to find some
(if I remember correctly) ->13mm deep spacers to go between the
speaker mountings and the door panel. This is so the magnet on
back of the speaker doesn't interfeer with the window shutting.

Also, the Japs only use 3 mounting points, and Uk uses 4. So
you are gonna need to out some holes on your door for screws

Hope that helps.....

p.s I think somewhere might manufacture the door spacers...Sony??
