Question

Any advice appreciated (MY97):

My factory-fitted Subaru/Philips head unit is wearing out (on/off button and contacts from the removable section). I have the familiar Philips RC026 autochanger, bought two years ago from my dealer. It turns out that the only Philips replacement head unit that works with the RC026 is the RC559 radio cassette. Which is now discontinued and only available from VDO Kienzle in a reconditioned form for £70.

My question is: what non-Philips radio cassettes are compatible with the RC026 autochanger, if any? Anyone done it & can recommend some decent kit? Any input appreciated.

Many thanks!

bummer, maybe it's time to cut your losses and go for a replacement system?

i say that because i replaced the same unit on mine a couple of months back and it's made a massive difference, even with the orginal speakers etc.
