I was thinking of getting a Clarion NX505 because it has a touch screen, sat nav, SD card slot and a manual volume control **** for £400. The offer that was on ended before I bought one and recently I read someone's review of the unit where they were quite disappointed.


I was therefore thinking what other unit would be available with all these type of features at a price of around £400 but I'm not really aware of anything else that fits the bill.


At the moment I don't have a great phone but I have been thinking of getting the new Samsung Galaxy S7 and thought that the better option might be to get a head unit that utilises all the features on that to compensate for the lack of features on a head unit e.g. sat nav.


Is this a good idea? Is everybody now buying these type of head units? Are all the manufacturers heading going to be heading in this direction? Most importantly which one works well with the Samsung android phones vs the Apple phones?
