Default 4-Piston BBK GB Specials! Very Affordable!!

Sup guys, manage to chat with the seller for Group Buy deal on this new BBK. As of my opinion, these are very high quality.

The High quality brake pads consist of multi layers;
  • Layer 1 - Ceramic Pad - 700 degree, 0.55 coefficient
  • Layer 2 - Standard Steel Base plate - All brake pads have this
  • Layer 3 - Rubber sheet - Anti-shake resistant and absorbs noise
  • Layer 4 - Metal Sheet - To blocks heat from caliper to pad, and pad to caliper.
  • Attributes - OEM brake sensor compatiable, 40% larger brake surface than our regular WRX pads, uses same pad as the Mercedes Benz W220 AMG 4-piston caliper. (So it can be easily replaced with other brand brake pads).

I second that!

How do they compare to the K-Sport or D2 kits currently on GB?

I don't know if any Subaru has fitted them yet, but I know some Mazda and Bimmer already fitted them on with no problem.

Why would you want to compare this with K-Sport and D2? They are complete different level product. K-Sport uses tiny brake pads and tiny caliper and is cheaply finished. Their 8-pot is equal to brembo 4-pot f50 calipers, which is also equal to this modulo 4-pot.

And besides, K-Sport and D2 are the same company in TAIWAN and the same caliper they both share.

I ask for comparison because of the price similarity.

I'm thinking about a brake upgrade ad have been watching those ones. I know they're cheap in price but the sellers' companies use them on their motorsport cars.

The difference is that K-sport have a proven track record with the impreza........and the main supplier of k-sport on scoobynet has excellent aftersales service and advise.

The discs on the K-sport range also have seperate alloy bells and the ones pictured above seem to be solid.

Interesting. Thanks.

I have heard before that brakes like K-Sport's require more pistons due to their inferior ability.

Is this at all founded?

sti4life - the reason for lack of response is no familiarity with these kits, lack of track record as rooferman points out. £700 is only good value if it's a quality product and, without researching it further, very few on here would know one way or the other. For me, it's the first time I've heard of Modulo.

One piece disk would be a disadvantage, as previously pointed out. Another thing is pad fitment - is it a standard pad fitment so you can fit high quality pads like Ferodo DS series and Performance Friction?

Yes they have standard Ferodo Pads for this brake kit. Because it uses the same pads as the Mercedes S-Class (W220) pads. I just called Ferodo and checked they only have the premium standard Ferodo pads for this, part no. STB1714. The EBC carries them in Red Stuff DP31363C and Yellow Stuff, Axxis carries them Model: 107.08480, as well as Mintex MDB2064 and other brands or whoever makes pads for Mercedes S-class W220.
