Possible Group Buy On Inlet Manifold Polishing
Hi Guys,
I've looked into getting my inlet manifold polished (Cosmetic enhancement only)
I've found a very good company which is only just done the road from me.
I've interested the manager with the idea of offering a group buy to ScoobyNet.
What he need to work out a price, is a idea of how many people would be interested in having a manifold polished.
The way it would work, is you would send me you manifold, I would then take it to his company to polish and then as they get finished I woud collect and post back to you.
So the price would be for the polishing and postage one way.
Once I know how many are interested I'll re-contact him and post a price for you guys.

To give you guys an idea. I've been quote £80 plus postage for one.
The manager has said he'll be able to do a group buy for trade cost. But he'd like to do mine first to find out just how long it takes to give an exact price.

Right guys, I've just dropped my inlet off to the polisher.
He's going to get it done in his psare time (Saving me money ha ha) and have it back to me by the end of the month.
I'll then have a final price for the groupd buy and discount stages dependant on numbers interested.
I'll also put some pictures up on here for you to look at.
What he did say is that he would be able to polish absolutly everywhere due to the design of the inlet, but when I showed him the inlet on my car, it was clear all these locations wouldn't been seen anyway so it won't matter.
What he is planning on doing, is dipping the inlets to get them clean ish, then glass bead blast them, dip them again followed by a little polishing ha ha.
I'll keep you all aprised.

Just taken the call, the manifold is done. I'll be over to collect it some time this weekend and hopefully pop some pictures on then.
The guy hasn't given me a final price, bu he did say it has worked out a little more, but not double like some said

Right guys, I will be adding the photos in a couple of hours.
But in the meantime here is a break down of the prices;
5x Inlet manifold £140 plus postage
10x Inlet manifold £120 plus postage
20x Inlet Manifold £100 Plus postage.
If you would like the inlet chromed it will cost an additional £70, I might be able to squeeze a little discount on this too depending on how many people want it done.
I've decided to get mine chromed to save me polishing it all the time, and so in a couple of weeks I will add a few more photos of the final finished result.

It makes no odds where or not the manifold it painted as its got to be sanded first before it's polished any where, the chap has a acid bath to get it nice a clean too.
The turn around will be an inlet a week, dependant on what other work he has on. He beleive he will be able to do them far quicker than that, but plan for the worst and all that.

The manifold is cleaned on the underside but it is not completely polished to the standard of the top.
That said the manifold has been mocked fitted to a car and you can't see the underside so it doesn't matter.
All cast welds and filling points are ground off, and polished smooth.
The seem that runs along the top between the two inlets is again clean and polished, but not all the sand castins can be removed due to the tight space.
I only mention this as I don't want people to epxect a concours finsh. That said, like me you could have it chromed for that extra £70.
