Lightbulb Apexi AVC-R Group Buy

Guys
Any one interested in an Apexi AVC-R group buy? Ive arranged with a Japanese supplier a price if I can get 10 buyers. Basically its 420USD for the AVC and 40USD for Shipping, however im trying to bring this down more. So you are talking around 230£ish depending upon exchange rates delivered to your door.

Most UK dealers sell these for 300-350£ so a saving to be had.

Ive just bought an Apexi PFC D-jet from these people and saved over £350 on UK list prices.

However if any UK dealers are willing to match the deal, id be more than
happy to give you the business.

Anyone want one?

Ps I used to be a Scooby owner but now moved to the dark side of Evo's. However no reason we cant all benifit. Ive got a similar post on MLR.

Remeber the import duty on these.

I got one from the US and got a bill through the post a few days later.

Still worked out way cheaper than buying from the UK tho.

I think it all depends how the product is posted. You can get customs friendly couriers that apply import TAX at source. I order alot of products from China/Japan/USA and very rarely have to pay duty.

But yes valid point.

To try an mitigate this each AVC-R will be set directly to the buyer. I could get them sent to me and distribute, but thats probably more likely to catch the eye of import, as it would appear as trade.

I think its just random.

My parcel was marked down considerably, I think to $30 and I still got caught.

Writing gift on the parcel also does not always work.

Just somethign for you to think about with regards to import duty and parcel force delivering it etc.....decent read.

I found this and found it quite interesting indeed, as we know, large purchases from Rexspeed incur a charge by Pacelforce....well....I may have found a way around it....read on...

Firstly the package was labeled correctly as its legal to import for person use and customs didnt put up an arguement they simply held the package for a couple of days and then slapped the duty and VAT charges £23 something.

As the package was imported using the thai national postal service it gets handed over the Parcel force which is now a privatly owned devision of the royal mail.

Parcle force pay the customs charge on your behalf then slap £13.50 on for the privlige of doing so.

When my mate went to collect his pack from the depo they refused to hand it over unless he paied the charge includig £13.5. and storage on top of that.

My mate then quoted that it was illegal to complete a service (paying customs) and charge the customer wthout offering them the chance to pay it themself or having a proir agrement on the price.
Then he demanded that they hand the package over with an invoice as it was a criminal offence under the (criminal law act section 104 sub section 2d) to hold a postal package in "virtue of lien". This means holding a package for ransom of payment... This is just like saying....

"you cant have your package unless you pay us £13.50 cause we paid your customs bill,,,,, when you didnt even ask us to."

Also holding a package illegaly as a non government owned postal service (Royal mail and Parcel force are privatly owned now) is against the postal service act 83,84 and carries a sentense of up to 6 months.

He spoke to the manager who didnt give him the package and my mate then rang the police who after an hour or so of argueing with him told the boss he either released the package or they would arrest him.

He got the package. Parcel force paid the bill and as they didnt inform my mate they were going to pay the customs charge on his behalf they didnt have a leg to stand on so in the end he paid nothing.

Royal mail and Parcel force make millions every year doing this and its against the law so f**k them and next time you get a bill check to see if you legaly have to pay it.

Im telling you this now cause I just went to pick up my new set of golf clubs and they slapped a bill on for over £90. I walked in and stated the criminal law act 104 subsection 2d and the postal act 2000, 83,84 and they just gave me my clubs.

Sounds like they shouldn't be doing what there doing...

I bought my AVCR direct from USA ebay, cost me £230 including customs charges. It was Fedexed over and arrived on my desk in 3 days, no Parcelforce crap - and yes - I've had the displeasure of their robbing ways.

This was in March this year.

Ps thanks Jimmy for the heads up -last time I pay parcelforce!

Perhaps, but at the time it was £260 posted and TBH most at those price aren't in stock and are ordered on account from overseas after I place the order, delivery 7-10 days - so why use a middleman? A bit of comeback should anything go wrong I suppose

guys very interesting read, totally agree that PF usually stick on top the handling and custom chargers. Usually if your item comes via DHL, Fedex or UPS you dont have to worry as they are import friendly companies. I think I read somewhere there is supposed to be an 11% duty on items coming into the UK but most couriers ignore this.

on another note, where can you buy a black AVC-R for 250 notes?
