Default Spoilers - great price!

If like me you have a WRX, you'll be in desperate need of an STi spoiler!

I've looked everywhere on the Internet (whilst avoiding the joys of Ebay!) and have come across "DR Motorsport".

The feedback I have seen on other Scooby sites is excellent with regards the price, fitment and paint job.

Have a look at the following link:-

New Page 1

The normal price of the STi 8 spoiler painted and delivered is, £325 which itself is a good price. (this includes the brake light)

If I can get 6 other guaranteed buyers DR Motorsport will do a Group Buy of just £280 which is a saving of £45.

These spoilers fit directly into the 4 holes of the existing WRX boot lid, and before anyone says that the normal STi spoiler has 10 bolts, I had the same spoiler fitted to a 2001 WRX and had no problems with it flying off at speed!

Please reply to this thread or send me a private message if you are 100% interested.

Cheers fellow Scoobies

Hi,

I have been looking at getting a p1 style front lip spoinler from DR Motorsport for a while now for my 1998 uk turbo, would they do any kind of a deal on this or any of their other items?

if so, what kind of price am i looking at for a painted and delivered early p1 style classic splitter?

Thanks,
Chris

Website says £300 for painted STI8 spoiler? Or am I missing something?

I would be interested in a £45 saving on advertised price, to make it £255 painted and delivered.

The website price of £300 is correct for a painted STi 8 spoiler, but you then have to add on £25 delivery charge which makes it £325.

I'm sure they will do a Group Discount on other spoilers as they are currently doing Group Buys for other Scooby sites in the UK, Holland and Sweden!

What I'm trying to do is get at least 6 people DEFINITELY interested in buying goods from them in 1 Group Buy, then I can email the details to get DR Motorsport to confirm the discount for all the products.

I would go on the assumption that if they are doing the STi 8 spoiler with a £45 saving then you are looking at roughly a 15% discount on their products.

Obviously no-one needs to part with any money until they have confirmed the actual price, but I need at least 6 definites.

Spread the word

The rear spoilers do come with a CLEAR brake light and if I get various order (i.e. not just rear spoilers) then David at DR Motorsport will confirm the discount on each product once I submit at least 6 names.

C'mon everyone, reply to this post and let's all save some money

Sorry, one more Q.., can you find out the approx weight difference between the WRX 'ironing' board and one of DRM's replica STI spoilers..?

Very tempted, especially having the clear (oem) brake light..

If he could do an S204 Rear Spoiler replica then I'd be very interested.. I dont see it on his site, but he might be open to new products?

I'd be up for a S204 direct replacement spoiler, if it were produced.

Question S204 ?

What does a S204 spoiler look like? Tempted to buy the STI spoiler at that price, a little worried about quality and waiting time. Mick.

I've gone back to DR Motorsport with the questions below and usually they respond within 24 hours.

1. Weight difference between the standard WRX spoiler and their replica STi spoiler

2. Do they do a replica S204 rear spoiler

3. What other reassurance can they provide in terms of quality and finish

Watch this space ...

The bloke at DR Motorsport has just got back to me with the following response to the previous questions:-

1. The weight of the spoiler is about 6kg, not sure of the WRX but I think it's 2-3kg

2. Sorry we don't do a replica, I've been having a look about, and don't think there is anyone with a replica S204.

3. Difficult one to answer this with my DRMotorsport hat on.
But nearly all our orders are from recommendations.
We recently put an advert in the new Total Impreza Magazine (only because I know them and they're 4 miles from here) but we haven't advertised for 3 years before that.
Didn't need to, word of mouth is the best advert.
We've done a number of group buys now, as well as all our normal orders and if we were selling rubbish or the quality was rubbish our reputation would soon be lost. Sure like every company we've had small hiccups in the past 7 years, but we've always taken note and made improvements.
The spoilers themselves are the best we've seen, all with clear brake lights just now and they also fit using the original boot lid holes. I see other spoilers at car shows and can usually tell who the supplier is. Ebay ones are the easiest to spot. Utter rubbish.
Our paintshop is the best there is with the latest paint ovens and equipment, and we only use the best PPG paint materials.

Hope that helps.

Now you've got more interest. If you could ask the owners who are ready to order to get in touch with me now, we will start to get quotes and orders together.
This will help us schedule the group buy rather than have it all to paint at once.

I need to therefore get some definite names together although you are not obliged to pay anything until we've got the overall prices with discounts.

Please therefore get your name down ASAP:-

1. Me (Gaity) - STi 8 rear spoiler in WR Blue (Colour Code 02C)

Cheers all

Gaity,

Is fitting a DIY job or do DR recommend you have it fitted by a bodyshop?
I'm just wondering how easy a job this is to do, i.e. whether it comes with gaskets / sealant etc to stop moisture getting into the boot?

I've also heard that the heavier spoilers can cause the bootlid to slam badly - do DR recommend you uprate the lifters (or springs on em) to STI versions?

Please get back to me - very interested! Also would the STI8 style fit a bugeye WRX?

Cheers,

Giles

I fitted the same spoiler to my previous Bugeye from start to finish in about 1 hour and believe me when I say I'm no mechanic! (that includes removing the old one first)

This spoiler fits using the existing 4 holes on your WRX bootlid and to take your old one off is simply a case of dis-connecting the brake light lead and then undoing 4 bolts.

I didn't use any sealant on my previous car and had no water leaks what-so-ever - from memory I can't remember if I transferred the existing rubber gaskets from the old WRX spoiler or not

If you want to find out about the fitting you can call DR Motorsport and ask to speak to David. (01506 872 430)

I get the feeling that ebay will be getting a few WRX "ironing-board" spoiler for sale soon - pass on the new to any surfers in your area

Please keep adding your names to the list so that once I get at least 6 I can confirm the exact discounted prices & place the order

C'mon everyone spread the word!

I'm gonna wait until Friday night and if I haven't got the minimum of 6 orders I will go back to DR Motorsport and see what discount they will do for just the 4 of us.

I can't believe no-one else wants any excellent quality spoilers, already sprayed but at at only ebay prices

I've had a few parts from drmotorsport in the past for both my new age JDM STi, and also my classic wrx ra track car.
Always been very impressed with the parts and the paint finish.

So this time I fancy a top rear window spoiler, like the hawk eye models, but want the ends painted WR Blue and the centre Black.

Not sure if they'll do that. Should I give them a call first or wait for the group buy to end?

That should't be a problem as their website does have the same spoiler.

I assume this will be for your New Age Impreza?

I have the day off work tomorrow so I will give DRM a call to go over the discounts available for the other orders including the rear window spoiler as well.

I'll be in touch soon
