Phone now JonMc - Alyn has said that he will do you guys a good deal - might not be the full GB discount as there doesnt seem to be many takers. The people that pressured me to starting this GB has vanished

I sent Jon a PM last night telling him to give Alyn a call, he said will do. Had to use SIDC as Scoobynet was down.

Andy.

I see someone else said in the brakes section they can buy a 2 piece set up cheaper elsewhere, they have not said where though or what make.

i just love these people that say that they can get stuff cheaper and yet give nothing back to the community by way of running group buys

Cheers Guys, I got the PM off Andy and we've been talking. Spoke with Alyn earlier and he's done me a great deal. Andy knows the score, but I'm not going into detail in public for those who aren't interested in the GB.

I've been after these DBA 2-pce discs for a while and you can't get these ones cheaper although I guess you could probably get some bodgit and scarper versions for a bit less.

Andy

Let me know how you get on with these - I reckon I will be up for a pair next year... they look awesome and from all accounts will work superbly too as an easy bolt on option

Enjoy

Will do. I've got my hoses and fluid to go on too. I had new Pagid RS421 pads from Alyn too and I'm expecting a big improvement. Can't go the Brembo route as I'll need to buy some new wheels - got 18's WRC-P1 on now which won't go over those calipers.

Andy.

I'm fitting some new mintex extreme pads and hopefully some braided hoses. I'll let you know what that combi is like after they've bedded in.

Mine have been fitted a few weeks back along with the Pagid 421 black pads, Goodridge hoses and 5.1 fluid. A big improvement over the standard discs etc. More dust I'd say but with wiper slots it can only be expected. Given them a few hard times on the road and they have been OK. Discs smell hot and look a bit blue but next time you use them as normal the colour and braking is back to normal too.

Andy.

I couldn't get the 5000 series with colour bell I wanted, not Alyns fault, so I've got a set of the 4000 wiper slot ones sat in the garage ready for fitting with some mintex extreme pads. Got myself some goodridge hoses to go on at the same time. Just need t convince her indoors that while I've got the wheels off it's a good time to upgrade them to!!!!!!!!!

My misses hasn't noticed mine nor the H&S decat and non resonator pipe I had fitted some months back. It sounds slightly deeper burble but not much louder than it was before with the PPP backbox already fitted ages back. TBH she wouldn't care what I did as long as its my money I'm using !!!!

I was aloud to buy any car I could afford on the promise that I wouldn't tinker like I did with my old cavalier, but I've got the decat, convinced her that I needed a full set of SAMCOs, a forge dump valve and a full set of auto gauges.

Slipping off a standard set of alloys and replacing with gunmetal ST-IV 18's is a bit hopeful at the moment.

I'll probably use the money and get some headers, a new TMIC and walbro fuel pump, all delivered to work so she'll never know.
