Cool ultimate cool... carbon bonnet!!

if I could get the price down to approx £400 who'd be up for it?

We need 10 minimum to acheive the price.
more info to be posted soon.

Seems that they vary in quality a lot ....

DR Motorsports's bonnets are only 425 at the moment anyhow, but I've not seen them in the flesh....

Where's it likely to come from - so I can take a look- I might be persuaded.....

Oh - And what scoops does it come with - I'm going to replace the O/S one with a carbon induction kit one...

I'd be interested if it's classic shape we're talking.

But, (and a BIG but), they'd have to be TOP quality. I've seen some with rough edges, moulding defects, all sorts. No interest unless it's indistinguishable from an OE item.

agreed Tel,
if anyone can get a price from any source with some details and photos then we can take our bargaining power from there.
The more options we have the better as far as I am concerened.

Im after a classic 99, with the main scoop and Im not too bothered about the mini ones.

thats where I got the idea (money), but apparently they might have to add a wee bit because times move on, thats why I said £400 as a guess-stimate

What were money's ones like in the end? I didn't get into that group buy because i was nervous of the quality, but it would be daft not to get involved this time if they were a good standard...

Sorry havent been about guys, been a busy bee.

Right the quality of the carbon bonnets were superb. They worked out £380 for a carbon bonnet with carbon scoop and carbon vents. The quality is different to DR Motorsports and other carbon bonnets (seen TSL and scoobyworld at JAE). Not saying they are worse, just reckon they are different.

The last group buy went extremely well (except USA had to wait for extra stock and so took a little longer than expected).

Last group buy, 15 were ordered in, and 15 went quickly.

The carbon bonnet comes with carbon vents and carbon scoop.

You can paint the carbon bonnet if you want. Customscoobyiom painted his yellow to match his car which looked quite trick. So was the same colour outside, but when you opened the bonnet, just pure carbon underneath

The company also does carbon boot lids if people are interested

Its the same bonnet siwrx is using on his project car:

Thumbs up

ALL,

I have bought 1 of these of Ebay from "Someone" cant remember who...

Brand New....AND I CAN VOUCH First Hand...These ARE EXCEPTIONAL Quality

Exactly the same as pics posted by M0ney

Light as a Feather so u MAY require Bootlid Pins which I think I will have too. Demon Tweeks do them.

As for the Bonnet I paid £370 and I picked up as the chap who imported them direct from Japan.

ALL THE BEST For this GB

Rich, i think £400 has been mentioned two or three times now, including in the very first sentence of the thread, but i guess it was easily missed...

Are they resistant to stone chips ? I get LOTS of them and a chap at work said he thought they'd get fracture in rather than chips.... (I was hoping that the outer layer would help resistant them at all really)...

Ta,

Mark

In terms of prices 'moving on' you may find that they're getting cheaper, not more expensive. There's loads more suppliers now than even a year ago, and that usually helps keep prices in check. The prices from suppliers at the shows has definitely dropped over the last year or so.

Im sure i saw one of your carbon bonnets on a customers car? Not on yours, on someone else's. Maybe it was another bonnet, so many different carbon bonnets out now by different suppliers i lose track! Lol

They do carbon bonnets for the 2003

Seems that way.

How much are they anyway, Peanuts? Can we just do a small order, or does it quickly become uneconomical?

awaiting response from supplier Tel, he's not forthcoming either!
I will see what the pricing is like for say 5 units as well as ten units.
Ill be happy with a straight £400.
Ill also pop over to 22b.com and try to drum up some interest.
