Can anyone tell me how I to identify an Sti engine, out of the car without cylinder heads? I'm told its a v8 with a semi closed deck block. I know I can see if it is a scd block with the heads off but is that correct for a v8.

Semi closed deck crankcases will have S20C stamped on the top of the cases and underneath.
