Default which oil for gearbox with LSD

As above, does anybody know which grade of oil and any recommendations of brands for a gearbox fitted with a plate type limited slip differential.
Cheers Ian.

opie oils. have a look on their site and use their search facility with your specifics. They are pretty good and will get back to you pretty quick. I'm sure one of their representatives are on here somewhere?

I get my oil from there.

I've always used Millers Competition 75W90 Millers Oils CRX 75w-90 NT Competition full synthetic.

Not had a problem with it. Compared to what was in there originally, it's so much better.

Are you sure your front diff/gearbox is plated.
On mine, rear diff is plated (so need LS oil) and front (gearbox/diff) just uses "normal" oil.

far more people do Oil than those mentioned, and capable of giving specific accurate advice free.........

presuming its still a "synchro" gear box then do NOT use an LSD type oil...........you need to err on the synchro requirements with a good quality gear oil like CRX75w90, CRX75w140, Motul Gear 300, etc.......

it's competition oil, although meant to be good for cold starts but not on all applications, motul 300 is good for cold starts.

It is a syncro box yeah and that was my worry, most of the LSD oils appear to be designed for rear axles using a LSD.
I'll contact some suppliers and see what they say.
Thanks again.
