Default Bonnet catch

Removing the flat battery today to go on charge and the bonnet catch/mechanism has stopped grabbing the bonnet shut, I've noticed that maybe I could replace a spring or is it just worth replacing the mechanism?

Thanks

I've had the same problem, - take off the grille, remove the catch mechanism, clean it with WD40 and re-assemble. All works well now, it seems to be the salt and road grime that causes the problem. Wouldn't bother changing the spring yet.
