HID Convertion Kit
Want to convert my 03 STi headlights to HID. Now I've read the main beams/ high beam are HB3 and the dipped are H1?
Would a HB3 kit this this be OK?

Only fit HID to lights that are A, Designed for the them B, Are projectors. Not sure which one's are yours but I am assuming they will have a projector in there. I recently upgraded the DIP on my Prodrive WR headlights, which are projector and used H7, 55w set with Hella ballasts @ 6000k and they have made a massive difference.
Just make sure you get them checked for alignment once fitted, I would personally go for a 6000k as the 8000k are very blue, less usable light.

No worries, generally if people are not sure of something they won't reply which in some ways is a bonus lol.
I got them from the Bay:
XENON HID CONVERSION KIT H7 6000K AC 55W
Really pleased with them, made the world of difference to light at night and still going strong. Easy to fit as well.

The only thing I'd add is....go for as close to 4300K as you can get, and not above 5000K.
4300K are what are fitted as OE to cars that run factory HID's, they ARE out there if you look, but 5000K is a decent alternative, white with a hint of blue.
What many people get wrong is thinking that as the colour temperature rises, so does the light output. The reverse is actually true, with 6000K not much better than a decent halogen, and 8000K giving less usable light than a halogen.
Also, keep in mind that the more blue plod sees, the more chance you have of a pull, and they might just issue you with a replace notice.
Mine are 4300K in projectors: the beams are well under control and they look white, not blue.
Edited: Buy the best you can get. Named ballasts and bulbs if possible, NOT cheap ebay Eastern European or Chinese copies, or it will surely end in tears.
