Default 2 little issues

So I've got 2 hopefully very minor issues.
1. When braking the peddle seems to pulse. This happens at all speeds. Not dramatically like abs pumping, it's quite gentle, but the same kind of pulse.
2. When parallel parking I get clonking on full lock. Dccd is in auto, but I do have a slow puncture on one of the fronts (waiting on 2 new tyres). The power steering belt has just been replaced so shouldn't be that. Also I do park with 2 wheels on a kerb, so could that cause the diff to clonk?

Car is a 2004 WR1, with ebc yellowstuff pads, but otherwise standard.

Hi mate, the pulsing in the brake pedal will more than likely be a warped brake disc. If you can only feel it in the pedal it will be at the rear. If you can feel it in the pedal and steering wheel when braking that will be the fronts or could be at the front and rear. This is usually what causes pedal bounce and it will be there if you brake lightly or heavy. They may have warped due to age, not broken in properly or you may have a sticky piston/siezed piston in one of the calipers. I can't help with issue 2, Steve.

Thanks mate. Yeah it's only in the pedal, nothing through the steering. I'll put new discs on the to do list then.

issue 2 sounds like a CV joint, check the boots for splits and make sure theres grease on the joint

Thanks, when it stops raining I'll have a look. Had a little mess around earlier, and it seems to only clonk when I'm reversing up the kerb. So perhaps it's just the dccd swapping around for traction.

Normal driving and parking keep it in the green (auto off) or the diff will tighten , spirited driving and wet weather in auto ,, snow and ice or loose surface into locked

I could have sworn I had a warped disc, but within 20miles of fitting harsher pads for a track day - the issue was fixed. It was just deposits on the pad from my "road" pads.

Try giving them a good clean with some emery paper and some brake cleaner, might save you having to replace discs.

Check droplinks for the clunking, I've had to tighten my bolts up a couple of times now to stop clunking during slow maneuvers.... really should loctite them!
