Failed Lambda or Mapping issue ?
Cross referencing in here as not everyone reads the Mapping section
On my 95 WRX, said this year the emmisions are very high, the only change this year is the remap, so is it a mapping issue or is it the lambda at fault that now its been remapped it cant do what it needs to ?
ive fitted since last mot
440 injectors
higher flowing fuel pump
later spec map sensor
later spec newage coils
as its been mapped would of thought emmisions would still be o.k ?????

cheers guys

You don't mention what ECU you are running, but I would say Faulty lambda.
The mapping concentrates on the open-loop fuelling and the lambda controls the closed loop fuelling. Mapping sessions generally don't touch the closed loop fuelling as the ECU takes care of this itself from feedback from the lambda.
How have you catered for the 440s on a car that normally runs 380's ?
If your running an aftermarket ECU, some can turn lambda control off and it relies on the base map to set idle fuelling.

cheers for the bench test link, dont have any propane tho LOL, it does have a sports cat which it has done for the last 5 yrs and never given a high reading as this, the MOT guy reckons even if it was to fail, the reading shouldnt be as high as it is.

The fail is on lambda being too rich so most likely the cars a bit rich on high speed idle. Could be a pipe leak or adjustment required in the map or failed lambda, no way of telling without testing the car.
