Default Fluctuating boost but don't think it's fuel cut!

So hopefully a quick one.

2001 Bugeye UK300 with decatted up pipe, 3 inch cobra cat back, cosworth panel filter, Prodrive y - pipe but standard apart from that.

On hard acceration the boost fluctuates from 5 to 15 psi but I am pretty sure it's not fuel cut as my experience of fuel cut is that it kicks in quick hard where as my problem feels like I am lifting my foot of the go go peddle gently. I haven't got any leaks that I can see but was wondering if anyone has experienced this and has any solutions or suggestions. Boost controller etc??

It's has not been mapped yet so I am not ragging it around too much, just the odd overtake.

Any ideas guys?

Therein lys your problem, factory ecu will drop boost if it hears det and or the car overboosts. With those mods there is a fair chance it is quite lean in boost.

Bugger okay buddy. Was hoping I could delay that until I had a couple of other mods in place but will get it sorted asap now and lay off the boost until it's done. Thanks Fella

Well worth cleaning your MAF sensor and boost solenoids out. I have similar mods to you without the major fluctuation issues. Mine was a liitle rough on idle and would fluctuate on part throttle. Cleaning those two sorted it. Mine's being mapped Feb 12th. You fitted fuel pump yet?

Thanks for that Dave. Will clean the Maf and solenoid. Car originally had the PPP fitted so assume it has the 255 uprated fuel pump but probs best check. Will clean the bits and see how it goes. Going to arrange for a mapping session too. Thanks again buddy

drive it off boost (no overtaking)till its mapped, sounds like the ecu is trying to save the engine from shatting itself. Get it mapped asap.

Okay so ideally needs a map sorting asap. Maybe going back to a Prodrive system at the moment as well so may not be a bad thing. Not looking for crazy power so 2.5" will be fine so I will be removing the 3" system that's on there.

Thanks again guys
